Can American parents find your school when they search, and does AI mention you at all?

Parents in the United States research schools online before they ever call. They compare districts, read reviews, and increasingly ask an AI assistant which schools fit their child. GetPreferred works on the three things that decide the outcome: the school website, whether you appear in search and AI answers, and how enquiries are handled.

The United States market

The United States runs a decentralised system. Public school districts, charter schools authorised by state or local bodies, and independent schools that are accredited rather than state-run all compete for the same families, alongside a large tutoring and test prep industry and the higher education sector. Accreditation comes through regional accrediting bodies and associations such as the National Association of Independent Schools for private schools. High schools offer Advanced Placement courses, and a growing number offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma. The SAT and ACT still matter for college admission at many institutions. Demand concentrates in metropolitan areas where district boundaries, housing prices and school choice programmes push families to compare schools street by street.

Why visibility bites here

Search behaviour in the United States is mature and comparison driven. If a family is relocating to a metro area, the first move is usually a search by neighbourhood or district, and the results are dominated by school rating aggregators, real estate listings and review pages rather than the schools themselves. Those pages carry old data and other people's framing. When a parent asks an AI assistant which independent schools in a city suit a particular child, the assistant answers from whatever it can read, and a school with a thin or outdated site is simply not in the set. In a market with open comparison and heavy choice, invisibility is the competitive loss.

Where we are. GetPreferred works remotely from Ahmedabad, India. There is no office in the United States and no local team. The measured case study behind this work is an Indian institute. The mechanism, how parents search and how AI answers, is the same.

Questions institutions in United States ask

Do you have clients in the United States?

No. ThinkWithAi is based in India and the measured case study is an Indian institute. We are not going to claim American results we do not have. What travels is the mechanism: parents in the United States search and increasingly ask AI assistants before they enquire, and most schools are absent from those answers. You would be judging us on the diagnosis, not on a local reference list.

How do you work with a US school from a different time zone?

Working hours in India overlap with the US East Coast early in your day and the West Coast late in ours. Calls are scheduled to fit your morning or evening rather than ours, and most of the work is asynchronous: written findings, shared documents, agreed decisions. Schools that need a person on campus during the school day should say so before starting.

Does this apply to tutoring and test prep companies in the United States, not just schools?

Yes. A parent looking for SAT or ACT help, or subject tutoring in a specific city, searches in the same way a parent looking for a school does, and asks an AI assistant the same kind of question. The visibility problem is identical. The difference is the enquiry pattern: tutoring enquiries arrive faster and go cold faster, so handling matters more.
